Autoblog Digs The Ford Bronco Sport

It is hard not to fall in love with small vehicles that have loads of charm and character. The 2024 Ford Bronco Sport is one such vehicle. While it isn’t the rabid off-roader like its larger brother, the Bronco, it can play on any surface and hold its own without feeling out of place. Most small and medium-sized crossovers are just cars with a taller stance, while the Bronco Sport is an SUV with purpose. Autoblog.com Review With a recent review by Autoblog.com, one of the internet’s largest and most respected automotive news and review websites, they appreciated that the Bronco Sport was precisely what it said it was. It didn’t try to act fancy or shy away from its abilities. Instead, it made them feel comfortable and confident in all types of driving conditions. What Autoblog Had To Say “The rugged Bronco Sport is charming and different in a segment that skews toward the on-road side of the SUV spectrum. The steering has a hint of play/liveliness, making for a small truck feeling on the road, but still possesses the precision we've come to expect from Ford's cars and crossovers,” Autoblog said. Trim & Pricing The 2024 Bronco Sport is available in five different trim levels, including: Big Bend: $32,825 Heritage: $35,295 Free Wheeling: $35,325 Outer Banks: $37,470 Badlands: $39,985 Engines & Fuel Economy Each trim under the Badlands is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder engine that outputs 181 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque. The Bronco Sport can achieve up to 25 mpg city and 29 highway with this motor. The Badlands has a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder under its hood that produces 250 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque, and the EPA estimates drivers will be able to get 21 mpg city and 26 mpg highway. The top-of-the-line Badlands also receives a torque-vectoring rear differential; all models have an 8-speed automatic transmission. Information Screens The Sport has a standard 4.2-inch digital screen between the gauges, with a 6.5-inch screen optional on higher trim levels. All models get an 8-inch touchscreen, which is standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Some models are available with the powerful Bang & Olufsen sound system. Autoblog Praises The Bronco Sport Off-Road When putting the Bronco Sport through its paces off the main roads, Autoblog.com reported, “When off-road, though, the Bronco Sport shines and is way better than you might expect. Each GOAT (Go Over Any Terrain) mode makes the Bronco Sport drive noticeably different by altering the all-wheel-drive torque split, transmission shift points, traction control/stability control settings, throttle tuning, brake tuning and steering weight. It's also important to note that the Badlands has an extra inch of ground clearance over the other versions. While inching along a trail, we could hear an Outer Banks and Big Bend Bronco Sport bottoming out in places where our Badlands was just fine. Its torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system was also beneficial when driving in sand.” Safety Ratings The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has given the Bronco five stars overall in its crash test ratings, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has awarded the Sport with its coveted Top Safety Pick+ designation. This shows that the small Ford SUV does not skimp on taking care of the occupants inside the vehicle. At Benna Ford, we offer our customers some of the best prices and services. Tesla Supercharging Adapters for Ford EV

Ford Offers Complimentary Tesla Supercharger Adapter To Eligible EV Customers

Ford electric vehicle customers are now eligible to get a free Tesla Supercharger adapter thanks to a visionary relationship that allows customers to take advantage of the more than 2,000 Tesla Supercharger stations with over 20,000 actual ports to charge an EV in America and Canada. A Word From Ford Jim Farley, President and CEO, Ford Motor Company, announced the news on Twitter, saying, “When we announced Ford EVs would get access to Tesla Superchargers, I said we'd send customers a Fast Charging Adapter. I'm pleased to confirm that eligible Mustang Mach E & F150 Lightning owners in the U.S. + Canada can reserve a complimentary adapter starting soon. This is our way of saying thank you! We want to make charging more convenient for our Ford EV owners, so we're excited to add Tesla chargers and will continue growing our BlueOval Charge Network. More details soon.” A Partnership To Benefit All This partnership allows Ford EV drivers to enjoy the cars and trucks even more than they already do, knowing that there are thousands of places where they can easily charge their vehicles on the go. BlueOval Charge Network The BlueOval Charge Network from Ford was already the most extensive public charging network in the United States, with over 106,000 chargers available nationwide. Adding the ability to charge via a Tesla Supercharger makes it easier for drivers to feel more freedom when driving longer distances. NACS Charge Port The adapter will allow the Ford F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E to charge on Tesla V3 and above Superchargers. Starting in 2025, all Ford electric vehicles will feature the North American Charging Standard (NACS) charge port so that customers will no longer have to get an adapter to charge their vehicles on any other charging network. Strong EV Sales For 2023, Ford announced they had record EV sales and were now the number 2 best-selling electric vehicle automaker in the United States. Each EV model line enjoyed an increase in sales, with the F-150 Lightning rising 55% compared to 2022, while the Mustang Mach-E enjoyed a modest bump of 3%, and the E-Transit work van jumped by 18%. At Benna Ford, we offer our customers some of the best prices and services. With more than 100 new and used vehicles to choose from, our outstanding sales team and finance department will work hard to make sure you drive away happy. 2024 Ford Maverick Wins Favorite Pickup Truck

MAMA Names Ford Maverick as “Favorite Pickup Truck”

The Midwest Automotive Media Association (MAMA) announced seven category winners for MAMA’s Favorite Vehicle of 2024 awards. Benna Ford is pleased that MAMA’s Favorite Pickup Truck Award winner went to the Ford Maverick. The Maverick will join the six other category winners as finalists in competing for the overall title of MAMA’s Favorite Vehicle. What is MAMA? This is the 33rd year for the Midwest Automotive Media Association, which is composed of 273 automotive journalists and public relations professionals from across the country and Canada. The automotive journalists test drive vehicles individually throughout the year for their own media organizations year, and gather three times a year for three drive events: The MAMA Spring Rally Chicago Drives Electric MAMA’s Favorites Fall Fest Before this year, MAMA only granted awards for the Family Vehicle of the Year and Luxury Family Vehicle of the Year. This year, the organization expanded its award categories to “recognize the diversity of vehicles available and of interest to the readers, viewers, and listeners of MAMA’s membership base.” Voting on their category favorites narrowed a field of over 100 eligible models to a few select members in each category. They selected the Maverick and the six other category winners and finalists at the Favorites Fall Fest. “With more than 100 new, redesigned, or refreshed vehicles MAMA members could drive during 2023, it was time to assess the breadth and depth of product at each event and for the year as a whole,” said Robert Duffer, MAMA President. “You could say MAMA loves all of her vehicles equally, but everyone knows there’s only one MAMA’s Favorite.” Let no one say MAMA isn’t self-aware of how its acronym reads. Why the Maverick? While details weren’t released for the reasoning behind the Maverick’s recognition, it is easy to guess. The Maverick harks back to the small, efficient, and useful vehicles that spurred the small pickup truck market explosion about 45 years ago. It can take on almost any task a homeowner or small service business requires. At the same time, it leaves plenty of room around it in the garage and is easy on the gas credit card. The latter is particularly the case with the hybrid model, which has an EPA city/highway/combined rating of 42 / 33 / 37. However, unlike those original small trucks, its Escape-derived platform means it drives and feels like a compact SUV. It has two rows of seats and four doors, making it practical as a passenger carrier. It is a best-of-several-worlds vehicle with a straightforward design inside and out that doesn’t pretend to be anything it isn’t and just happens to be Ford’s most affordable model. MAMA members will decide which of the seven finalists they will award as MAMA's Favorite Vehicle of 2024. They will announce the winner on February 8th at the 2024 Chicago Auto Show during a MAMA-hosted breakfast. If the Maverick wins, it will add another trophy to its case, and we at Benna Ford will undoubtedly be pleased and will likely post about it in this blog. But it has already won among pickup trucks, which is what really counts. If a small light-duty pickup truck can fill your hauling and transportation needs, you should visit Benna Ford and explore the Ford Maverick.

2024 Ford Maverick

Ford Maverick Is a Car & Driver 10Best Winner

Benna Ford is pleased to announce that Car and Driver placed the Ford Maverick on its 10Best list for trucks and SUVs. In describing their decision, the publication took more than one swipe at the “bigger is better” ethos regarding pickup trucks for the last several years. As they put it: “ This upsizing in the name of payload and towing one-upmanship has created a vacuum at the bottom, a white space in the product landscape that the Ford Maverick slides into neatly.” Crossover Platform The Maverick, of course, represents more than just a smaller pickup truck. It has a car-like unibody construction and is built from a front-wheel-drive platform. Specifically, it rides on the same platform as the Escape and Bronco Sport. While this may seem like heresy in the truck world, Car and Driver points out that there is no shortage of people driving crossovers with the same characteristics, and they like them just fine. Some of them would simply like not to have the cargo hold confined to an enclosed space. Of course, the reason why the automotive world outside of trucks and large truck-based SUVs has this configuration is for a smoother ride, lighter weight, and better fuel economy.  The Maverick is for people who don’t want to give up the comfort of a crossover ride just because they occasionally put a couple of mountain bikes or a washing machine in the back. Hybrid Power Of course, unibody construction is not the only unique Maverick feature. A hybrid drivetrain is a major upgrade to the Maverick lineup. This is not unique among trucks anymore, but the Maverick’s hybrid drivetrain stands out for its dedication to efficiency rather than overt power enhancement. The system involves a 162 hp 2.5-liter inline-4 combined with two AC motors for a combined 191 horsepower. As is often the case with hybrids, this powertrain is combined with a continuously variable transmission. The result is the Maverick hybrid’s outstanding 37 combined EPA estimated mpg, with it also being rated at 42 in the city and 33 on the highway. No other pickup comes close to those figures. EcoBoost Power Neither the engine nor motors power the rear wheels, however, so the hybrid Maverick is strictly FWD. For AWD, or just more power, there is the EcoBoost turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 engine that produces 250 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. The power is managed by an 8-speed automatic transmission. With front-wheel drive, the engine produces a still respectable EPA city / highway / combined mpg estimate of 23 / 30 / 26. AWD models drop each figure down by one mpg. When properly equipped, an EcoBoost-powered Maverick with AWD can tow up to 4,000 pounds, which is about 500 pounds more than most crossovers of its size. Car and Driver’s description doesn’t even mention affordability, but it is hard to ignore when the MSRP starts at $23,815  for an EcoBoost FWD model. The hybrid drivetrain, which is available on all three (XL, XLT, Lariat) trim levels, starts at $25,315. For a great many households, the Maverick is all the pickup truck they need, making it a top purchase for the occasional haul but still a comfortable ride. If Car and Drive r’s 10Best Maverick sounds like it may work for you, stop by Benna Ford for a close look and a test drive.

Ford Baja 1000 Racing Vehicles the Bronco Raptor and F-150 Raptor R

Bronco Raptor and F-150 Raptor R lead the way in the stock classes

Ford has a long history racing the Baja 1000. The legacy dates all the way back to 1968, when the first Ford Bronco entered and won with Hall of Fame off-roader and pioneer Larry Minor and Jack Bayer. Larry Minor with Rod Hall would win again in a Bronco in 1969. Rod Hall owns the Guinness World Record for the most class wins in Baja history with 25. Rod would win his final race in 2017 at the age of 79. Then, another legendary racing driver, Parnelli Jones, of both off-road and road course racing fame, won in ‘71 and ‘72 with Bill Stroppe in a Ford Bronco. Robby Gordon would later win with a prepped Ford F-150 in 1989. Overall Victories The manufacturer has 23 overall victories at the famed off-roading event, and was absolutely dominant in various classes in the 1990s with their Rough Riders program. Legend In The Making In 2008, Ford took an F-150 and took third place in class 8 racing at the Baja 1000, and it was later revealed during its official launch that it was basically a stock Ford F-150 Raptor that went racing without people knowing. Ever since that ‘08 race, the company has taken great pride in bringing their engines, chassis, brakes, and suspension developments for their trucks and SUVs to the Baja 1000 for the ultimate torture testing. Success Year After Year This year, 2023, was no different. The Ford Bronco Raptor and F-150 Raptor R both won their stock classes at this year’s event. The Bronco Raptor won the same event that the Ranger Raptor won last year, the stock mid-size class. “Ford is a family company with not only a goal to win, but to also further develop our street Raptors for customers around the world to enjoy,” said Mark Rushbrook, global director, Ford Performance Motorsports. “The Baja 1000 not only served as a testament to all the hard work from people on the ground and those in Dearborn, Mich., but this event also emphasizes our continued global commitment to the sport and making better products for our customers.” Drivers & Final Times Driving the brand new Bronco Raptor was Brad Lovell, a 2022 Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame inductee, and he would take the checkered flag after a grueling 1,200 miles in just 40:37:47.820. The F-150 Raptor R was driven by Loren Healy, an off-road racing champion in both the Baja 1000 and multiple other off-road racing series. He would cross the line in only 41:44:45.634. Engines The Bronco Raptor is powered by a 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 with 418 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque. The F-150 Raptor R has a 5.2-liter supercharged V8 that puts out 700 horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque. Both vehicles use a 10-speed automatic transmission. “Winning the Baja 1000 in the Raptor R will go down as one of my favorite victories in my racing career,” Loren Healy, Raptor R navigator, said. “The amount of work that went into the race efforts for both the truck and the Bronco Raptor are absolutely mind blowing. Somewhere around 100 people came together as a family and made magic, getting both these stock production vehicles to win their classes in the second longest Baja 1000 ever. It truly is an honor to be a small part of this epic, history-making team.” Leaving Satisfied Both drivers expressed overwhelming satisfaction and joy with not only the final result of the race, but also with the whole Ford Performance team. Both vehicles were basically stock, save for obvious safety changes. The engine, transmission, and driveline were all the same stock parts you would get in a Raptor product sold at Benna Ford or any other Ford dealer. At Benna Ford, we offer our customers some of the best prices and services. With more than 100 new and used vehicles to choose from, our outstanding sales team and finance department will work hard to make sure you drive away happy. Fort Bronco on the Off Roadeo Track

Bronco Off Road School Opens To Public

Since 2021, Ford has offered customers that purchased a new Bronco, Bronco Raptor, or a Bronco Sport a free off-roading school pass, and the owners are allowed to bring a guest with them. As of February of this year, over 31,000 Bronco owners and guests have attended the Bronco Off-Roadeo at the four locations in Texas, Nevada, Utah, and New Hampshire. Now Open To All Now, for the first time, non-owners will be able to pay $795 per vehicle to get a 4-hour pass for themselves and up to three guests to learn how to drive a Bronco off-road properly by professional drivers. Owners get a free 10-hour program. All participants need to cover their own hotel and travel fees. More Fords Sold Ford found that 8.3% of all guests that went with owners to the Off-Roadeo between June and September of 2022 ended up buying a Bronco, or other Ford vehicles once returning from the event. It makes sense for them to allow everyone to have access to see what a Bronco, Bronco Raptor, or Bronco Sport can do when faced with off-road challenges before they buy one. What You Will Learn Ford says that anyone who attends one of the four Off-Roadeo schools can expect to experience challenging terrain, including off-road trails, and get one-on-one coaching from professional off-road driving instructors. Owners and non-owners will learn about the technology and features that enable the Bronco to be so natural in off-road situations, like the Trail Control, Terrain Management System, and G.O.A.T. driving modes, along with drivers learning basic off-road driving skills. Rich Tradition For Racing Schools Ford has a rich tradition of allowing buyers of their vehicles to experience free performance schools to learn to drive expertly. Buyers of the Shelby GT350 and GT500 Mustangs were able to go to Ford Performance schools for Track Attack events at Utah Motorsports Campus in Tooele, Utah, and Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina. There were also schools in Utah and Asheville, NC for buyers of the Ford Focus ST and RS. Current Driving Schools Currently, Ford has the Raptor Assault Experience for F-150 Raptor customers, the ST SUV Experience for Edge ST and Explorer ST owners, as well as the Dark Horse Track Attack for the new 2024 Mustang Dark Horse. At Benna Ford, we offer our customers some of the best prices and services. With more than 100 new and used vehicles to choose from, our outstanding sales team and finance department will work hard to make sure you drive away happy. And our fantastic service department will take care of your new-to-you vehicle as if it were their own.

Sydney Sweeney and Ford Collaboration, Jacket

Ford Expands Clothing Line Collaboration with Sydney Sweeney

Early in 2023, Ford entered into a partnership with actress Sydney Sweeney for a line of women’s workwear. The line launched in March and the most popular items sold out in a matter of days. Ford has announced that it is extending and expanding its clothing line collaboration with Sweeney. Grew up with Mechanics Sweeney is best known for her starring role in HBO’s Emmy-winning teen drama “Euphoria” as well as the first season of “White Lotus”. She grew up in Spokane, Washington, with a family of mechanics, so cars and car culture have been a large part of her life. She contributes to that culture herself by use of her TikTok channel, where she has documented restoring her 1969 Ford Bronco. She has used both that channel and Ford’s Instagram account to display her off-roading with the Bronco in Moab, Utah. Another Ford owned by Sweeney, her beloved Brittany Blue 1965 Mustang, inspired the new line. The line is also intended to be part of a wider campaign to encourage more women to become involved with the automotive industry. For nearly 60 years, Mustang has represented freedom and self-expression. Collaborating with Sydney and her love for her 1965 Mustang celebrates what that can look like. For Sydney, it meant embracing a new hobby to restore the vehicle of her dreams, and designing a clothing line that makes women feel comfortable and empowered to do the same,” says Erica Martin, Ford marketing communications manager. Designed by Ford and Sweeney, Made by Dickies The expanded line will be produced by the well-known maker of work clothes, Dickies. The new line will include denim coveralls, a racing jacket, a corduroy hat, a T-shirt, and a keychain. Ford will display the line with an online lookbook with the products modeled by celebrity female automotive restoration enthusiasts with an online presence, such as Adi Law, Gelica Peralta, Sandy Rancatore, Isabella Rosa, and automotive expert and analyst Lauren Fix. The lookbook will also provide step-by-step instructions for basic vehicle maintenance, changing a car battery, and checking tire pressure, brake fluid, and oil. “I love working in the garage and was so excited to partner with Ford on a clothing line that’s comfortable in and out of the shop,” said Sweeney. “I was so thrilled that Ford wanted to use auto enthusiasts to model the clothing and create content that teaches people how to do basic maintenance tasks on their vehicles. Being able to take my car into my own hands has been so empowering for me – and I hope this can inspire others who may have never considered working on their vehicle themselves to give it a try.” The clothing line can be found and purchased at merchandise.ford.com. Of course, Ford vehicles can be found here at Benna Ford. Contact us today and get behind the wheel of a new Ford!

Front View of Ford Mach-E Rally

Mach-E Rally Debuts At Detroit Auto Show

The Ford Mach-E is one of the best-selling electric vehicles currently on the market. Between the high levels of performance, great styling, and the continual updates of BlueCruise, the excellent semi-autonomous driver assistance system. In August, Mach-E sales jumped 61.3% compared to August of 2022. At the 2023 Detroit Auto Show, Ford debuted the new Mach-E Rally, a dedicated off-road weapon with an upgraded two-motor powertrain from the Mach-E GT. In the Rally, you get 480 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. While power remains the same, the torque is up 50 lb-ft. The ride height is increased by 20 millimeters to withstand the off-road abuse, and it has 385 mm front brake rotors with red Brembo brake calipers. The 19-inch rally-style white wheels with 235/55/R19 Michelin CrossClimate2 tires. The tires are specially designed to provide more grip on loose surfaces, and the increased sidewall helps to maintain a balance with the suspension when traveling over rough terrain. Design-wise, the Mach-E Rally features a black painted steel roof, a race-inspired front splitter, a rear, Focus RS-inspired roof-mounted spoiler, and new front fascia that incorporates fog lights. Underbody shielding is increased to protect the vehicle when traveling over non-uniformed terrain. The all-new RallySport Drive Mode allows for bigger slides, a more linear throttle response, and aggressive suspension damping. Ford built a unique off-road rally course at their Michigan Proving Grounds for extreme testing to ensure the Rally would pump customers' hearts. Rallycross drivers helped to design the course, and Ford engineers and technicians drove 500-mile tests with the Mach-E Rally to simulate what it would face in a rallycross driving event. Even with the power upgrades, the Mach-E Rally can still get up to 250 miles on a full charge, which you can get 10-80 percent of charge in just 36 minutes via a DC Fast Charger. Donna Dickson, Chief Engineer of the Mach-E, had this to say when asked about the new Rally model: "Just a year ago, this was merely an idea, and what you see today is a testament to the passion and intense creativity of our Model e team. We have always explored new areas of performance, and the combination of a rally-tuned suspension, dual motor electric powertrain, and wicked styling makes the Mach-E Rally a different kind of performance vehicle that will excite customers chasing their next adventure.” The Mach-E debuts with wild color choices, including Grabber Blue, Shadow Black, Eruption Green, as well as Grabber Yellow as no-cost color options. Available Star White or new Glacier Gray are extra-cost colors. From October 12-21, the Ford Mach-E Rally will take on the Rebelle Rally, the first woman-only off-road navigation rally. Kaleigh Miller and Bailey Campbell are set to drive and navigate the off-road special Mach-E. Miller has won the event in the 4x4 class in 2016, 2017, and 2020, while Campbell has taken 2nd place at the Baja 1000 and a fourth-place finish in Class 1 of the Mint 400. Together, they will be racing in the Electrified Designation of the X-Cross category. At Benna Ford, we offer our customers some of the best prices and services. With more than 100 new and used vehicles to choose from, our outstanding sales team and finance department will work hard to make sure you drive away happy. And our fantastic service department will take care of your new-to-you vehicle as if it were their own.

2024 F150 Raptor

Updated Ford F150 To Debut At Detroit Auto Show?

The latest Ford F-150 debuted in 2020 as a 2021 model, with major updates to the interior and exterior styling and features. What also came from that redesign was an updated Raptor and a new, special Raptor R. Detroit Auto Show With the Detroit Auto Show happening this week, it is certain that we will see a mid-cycle refresh to the most sold vehicle in America, as we have seen multiple camouflaged F-150s spied driving around. While it wouldn’t be a big set of changes, but some minor tweaks, such as to suspension, interior, headlight and grille design, and technology, especially with BlueCruise 1.3 having recently debuted. Engines The current list of engines, from the 3.3-liter V6, 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, 5.0-liter V8, 3.0-liter PowerStroke V6, and 3.5-liter PowerBoost Hybrid V6, and Raptor R’s Supercharged 5.2-liter V8 will likely continue on with maybe minor tweaks at most. Hybrid PowerBoost What we expect to see is updates to the F-150 Hybrid, as Jim Farley, CEO of Ford, recently said, more than 10% of buyers are opting for the Hybrid version. By adding a Hybrid battery system to the twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 called the PowerBoost, you get 430 horsepower and 570 lb-ft of torque, with 100% of peak torque coming in at 3,000 rpm. That’s an increase of 30 horsepower and 70 lb-ft of torque over the EcoBoost 3.5-liter V6. The F-150 PowerBoost gets 25 mpg city and 26 mpg highway, respectively, in 2WD trim, while in 4WD, it gets 24 mpg in both driving cycles. All Ford F-150 engines are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Full Redesign Coming A Fully-new Ford F-150 is likely to actually debut as a 2027 model year car. That will certainly feature refreshed engines, especially major upgrades and updates to the all-electric F-150 Lightning, as battery technology is advancing at a breakneck pace. At Benna Ford, we offer some of the best prices and services to all of our customers. With more than 100 new and used vehicles to choose from, our great sales team and finance department will work hard to make sure you drive away happy. And our amazing service department will take care of your new-to-you vehicle as if it were their own.

2025 Mustang GTD

2025 Ford Mustang GTD

Picture this: A dark, damp room. It’s in the basement of a normal looking warehouse. There’s a door with a keypad, a place to swipe a badge and a retinal scan. But that’s just the beginning. Behind that door is a hallway that leads to another, larger door. There’s no keypad. There is no retinal scan, or place to swipe a badge. No, this door is only opened by you uttering a phrase that changes every week. It knows the sound of your voice. If it’s not your voice, an alarm sounds, and a dozen armed guards come to take you away. Impossible Mission? That kind of sounds like a plot for Ethan Hunt and the Impossible Mission Force. While it’s a dramatization, the Ford Skunkworks team does meet in a very remote area behind a giant wind tunnel where no one can really see what goes on. Watch Out Europe, Here We Come In this case, it was to develop a car that would spare no expense at taking on the best pure track machine that Europe has to offer: The Porsche 911 GT3 RS. That’s the car that everyone sets out to take the throne from, but while some come close, most miss the mark. However, the Mustang GTD has something up its sleeve. “Mustang GTD shatters every preconceived notion of a supercar. This is a new approach for us. We didn’t engineer a road car for the track, we created a race car for the road. Mustang GTD takes racing technology from our Mustang GT3 race car, wraps it in a carbon fiber Mustang body and unleashes it for the street,” said Jim Farley, Ford president and CEO. Engine & Racing Tech The GTD is powered by a Supercharged 5.2-liter V8 that is promised to produce at least 800 horsepower and features a giant hydraulically-activated Drag Reduction System (DRS) wing that is attached to the body, plus active aerodynamics under the front of the car. There will be no back seats or trunk space, as the trunk will be taken up by rear suspension components. 50/50 Weight Distribution In order to make as close to a 50/50 weight distribution as possible, the Mustang GTD has a transaxle, which is a way to combine your transmission, rear axle, and differential for weight balance. It will have only one gearbox: an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Production The Mustang GTD is produced by Ford at the Mustang plant in Flat Rock, Michigan, and then shipped to Markham, Ontario, Canada, the home of famed automotive engineering manufacturer Multimatic, the same company that redesigned the suspension for the latest generation Ford GT, using their incredible Adaptive Spool Valve dampers. Born From Jets Recycled titanium from retired F-22 Raptor jets is used to create the paddle shifters and door sills. There will also be an optional titanium exhaust. When asked what makes the Mustang GTD so special, Mark Rushbrook, global director of Ford Performance Motorsports, said, “We obsessed about the racing technology under its skin. What makes it go is even more compelling than what you can see when it passes you by. When you look at the engineering, the aerodynamics, how the powertrain works, the Mustang GTD is a rocketship for the road.” The Nürburgring Ford is aiming for a sub-7 minute lap time on the Nürburgring, the 12.49-mile German public highway that is used to qualify how great a streetcar is on a race track. It is one of the most dangerous tracks in the world, and it is also one of the longest. The lap time of the current generation 992.1 911 GT3 RS is 6:44.848. This is a car you can go into any dealership and buy and drive home. The Mustang GTD aims to be the answer for customers who don’t want a Porsche. Race Car First Since it was actually developed to race in the GTD racing class for the IMSA Weathertech Sportscar Championship here in America, it will also compete at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Both series will involve the Mustang taking on the likes of BMW, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz AMG, Ferrari, and the like. Cost The Mustang GTD will cost at least $300,000 and fully debut by early 2025. At Benna Ford, we offer some of the best prices and services to all of our customers. With more than 100 new and used vehicles to choose from, our great sales team and finance department will work hard to make sure you drive away happy. And our amazing service department will take care of your new-to-you vehicle as if it were their own.

The introduction of the 2024 Ford Mustang shows that Americans still want fun, fast, and sporty coupes. Whether you love screaming V8s or Turbocharged 4-Cylinders, the S650 Mustang has you covered. S650 is the chassis code for this new generation of Mustang. With the media getting the chance to drive the new Mustang, so far, they have been absolutely raving about the EcoBoost for being great for everyday use while still being sporty to still feel like it has the muscle you want from a Mustang. The 2024 Mustang EcoBoost features a 2.3-liter EcoBoost Twin-Scroll Turbocharged Inline-4 Cylinder that produces 315 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that will fire off shifts faster than you can say “Weee”. EPA estimated fuel mileage is 22 city mpg and 33 highway mpg, respectively. The EcoBoost is here to stay and has proven to be just as much of a Mustang as the GT model. When talking about the power and sound from the all-new EcoBoost Mustang, MotorTrend said, “In this modern era of easy speed, you'll never mistake the revised EcoBoost for being fast, but it'll likely embarrass most V-8-powered Mustangs built prior to 2010. The fourth-gen EcoBoost mill makes more power earlier in the rev range than the EcoBoost it replaces, staying on the boil for longer. Equipped with the optional active exhaust system, the new 2024 Ford Mustang EcoBoost even sounds pretty good, replacing the previous car's hot hatch soundtrack with a low, throaty rumble.” Inside, the new EcoBoost arrives with a standard 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster and 13.2-inch infotainment touchscreen. The digital instrument cluster can be customized to show different themes, such as Normal, Sport, Track, Fox Body, and Calm. Yes, you read that right: you can make your digital gauge cluster look just like the analog gauges out of a 1987-1993 Fox Body Mustang. Leather Recaro racing buckets are optional with the also optional Performance Package. One of the main options that journalists are loving is the new Drift Brake. With the optional Drift Brake, your physical parking brake, by way of a button, can be turned into a drift actuator, essentially. Autoblog dedicated an entire article to the Drift Brake saying, “Step one: Gun it. Step two: Yank up on the handbrake and crank the wheel with your left hand from 2 o’clock down to 7. Step three: Feel the car whip around, bring handbrake down, gun it again. Congratulations, you are drifting in the 2024 Ford Mustang thanks to its new, unique-to-a-production-car electronic drift brake. It couldn’t be easier. You can also do some pretty sick Ace Ventura parking jobs.” If you are interested in the all-new 2024 Ford Mustang, Benna Ford is happy to assist you in answering any questions or helping you order one for yourself. The Ford Mustang has always been about freedom. It makes sense when you think about its name. Surprisingly, how the Mustang got its name is actually a major topic of controversy among some people. Regardless of the true origin of the name, what has stuck around when it comes to the Mustang is the principle of free-roaming horses, as well as P-51 Mustang planes.
