Did the Ford Model A Start the Classic Car Restoration Community?

What Was the First Classic Car? These days, there is an extensive community of classic car collectors and restorers, so it can be tough to think of a time when there were no classic cars at all. Of course, cars weren’t always around, and they didn’t come into popular usage until the early 20th century. So, we’ve asked the question, what was the first car that became a “classic car?” more The answer to that question isn’t easy to find, but based on a recent report from MSN, we think it’s fair to say it was the 1928-1931 Ford Model A. Why the Model A? Well, for a number of reasons. There were certainly cars made before the Model A, and therefore, older cars that would have technically become classic models before the Model A ever did. But as MSN details, the Model A was really the model that kickstarted restoration as a hobby. From this, the classic car community was born following WWII. The post-war economic boom in the U.S. would have almost certainly allowed for more people than ever to have the disposable income necessary for such a hobby, and the 1928-1931 model certainly would have been an element of nostalgia to those at the time who would have grown up with such a vehicle. History of the Model A The most iconic of Ford models is arguably the Model T, but the Model A was the vehicle that ushered in a new automotive era for Ford. The last Model T was manufactured in 1927, and for six months, Ford shut down its factories to retool them for Model A production. Though the Model A is seen as a successor to the Model T, it is technically Ford’s first car. The name is indeed a nod to Ford’s first car, the 1903 Model A. The new 1928 model featured a number of key auto advancements, including a safety glass windshield. With the Great Depression beginning in 1929, the Model A couldn’t have been introduced at a worse time. Even so, Ford managed to sell over 5 million Model A cars by 1931. Though we can’t get you behind the wheel of a classic Ford Model A, we can get you behind the wheel of the latest and greatest Ford models. A company that lasts as long as Ford is doing something right, so contact us to experience that today.

Ford Tested the Bronco Raptor Against the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392, and It Paid Off

Differences Between the 2023 Ford Bronco Raptor vs Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Though we prefer our Ford models here at Benna Ford, we aren’t completely incapable of giving props to other auto brands. For instance, Jeep for many years has been one of the top automakers for off-road acumen, not to mention the brand, like Ford, has a massive place in American automotive history. more But that was then, and the Ford Bronco is now. Knowing that Jeep was the brand to beat, Ford has been testing the new 2023 Bronco Raptor model against its closest competitor, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392. Is one better than the other? Let’s explore the differences. Performance and Off-Road Specs There are certainly some similarities between these models, including that they both come equipped with a 4WD system, offer four-door convenience and seat up to five people. They both come with a spare wheel made of aluminum, just in case you encounter some rough terrain out in the wilderness, and they both boast a transmission with a dual shift mode. That said, there are some key differences. For example, the Bronco Raptor has a 10-speed automatic transmission, while its Jeep counterpart comes with just an 8-speed. The Wrangler Rubicon 392 also falls behind in towing capacity, offering just 3,500 lbs against the Bronco Raptor’s 4,500 lbs. Interior Space and Other Specs Of course, cargo space is also a crucial aspect of these vehicles, as you’ll likely be using them regularly for vacation trips or camping. To handle all your gear, the Bronco Raptor has an 83 cu ft cargo area, while the Rubicon 392 has just 67.4 cu ft. The Bronco Raptor even has its counterpart beat in front seat legroom by over two inches. Explore Our New Bronco Inventory We can’t forget to mention one of the most essential facts about these two models and their MSRP. Again, the 2023 Ford Bronco Raptor comes out on top with a starting MSRP of $73,780 compared to the 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392’s starting MSRP of $82,495. To experience those savings and everything else the Ford Bronco has to offer yourself, get in touch with us at Benna Ford.

Benna Ford: We're Here for You

As the world adapts to a changing environment and returns to normal, some industries have struggled to catch up. If you’ve been looking at new vehicles lately, you’ve probably noticed that the auto industry is among those with massive shortages, shipping delays, and limited availability. Manufacturers are issuing disclaimers for limited, late, or possibly no availability for certain features, frustrating customers, technicians, dealerships, and everyone in between. At Benna Ford, we’ve seen the impact that worldwide shortages have had on our customers, and we want you to know that we’re committed to doing the best we can in a constantly changing world. Shortages, Delays, and More Chip shortages, long shipping times, and manufacturing backlogs. It affects every step of the automotive manufacturing process, and it’s still happening long after other industries have (mostly) returned to business as usual. But why is that? There are several reasons that all come together as one. Parts manufacturers are faced with supply shortages that set them back, and keeping up with staffing only makes the problem worse. With fewer warehouse workers, drivers, and skilled personnel, everyone is struggling to keep up. By the time manufacturers do receive parts, they’re already faced with long wait lists and full reservations that they must fill first. With so many cogs in the wheel, it’s easy to see why the car business is so affected. How We Can Help From our sales team to our technicians, the Benna Ford team guarantees honest communication as shortages and delays continue to impact us and our customers. We’re frustrated too, but that doesn’t mean that we aren’t in this together. Our team promises open communication, realistic timelines, and up-to-date information during every step of your repair or car buying process. We’ll let you know everything we can about in-transit vehicles, shipping delays, and any other updates to keep you informed as we work hard to get out jobs done. So while you wait, why not do some in-depth research on your next vehicle? Additionally, we can let you test drive one of our in-stock vehicles to get a feel for what you want. You can consult our knowledgeable sales team, ask questions, and pick their brains for all the features and details you could ever want. Benna Ford is here to help, so contact us to see what we can do for you!

The 2023 Ford Escape, A Bold New Experience

A major facelift, seven trim levels, and a strong powertrain lineup for the 2023 Ford Escape show that Ford is not going to sit around and watch others take over the compact SUV market. Here is some news on this new creation. The Ford Blue Oval symbol comes towards the grille's center for 2023, while the headlights are slimmer and have a more muscular image than last year. It's a significant change from the 2022 model year, and the outcome creates a brand-new look for the 2023 Ford Escape without going overboard with odd design cues. A Bold Makeover If you want something with a tough visual impact, the ST-Line trim has replaced the old black plastic trim with body-color accents. Also, a unique lightbar running between two headlights is added to the front end as part of the ST-Line Elite option, which is optional. The 2023 Ford Escape has the same engine lineup as the earlier model. The base trim is powered by a 1.5L, 3-cylinder gas engine that generates 181 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque. It comes standard with two-wheel drive and can be equipped with all-wheel drive. Higher-end trims feature an EcoBoost 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission is standard with each of these engines. There are also two hybrid models at work. A 2.5L, four-cylinder Atkinson cycle engine and two electric motors power these hybrid models. This engine generates 210 horsepower and 155 pound-feet of torque in the standard model. The Escape plug-in hybrid takes things up a notch by producing 221 horsepower, but the torque performance stays unchanged. But in both cases, a Continuously Variable Transmission helps drive the wheels. While we're still waiting on the EPA's fuel-economy rating for the 2023 Ford Escape, we shouldn't expect a big change in those figures because Ford has not made any changes to its powertrain. When operating on 2WD, the 1.5L gasoline engine has a city mileage rating of 28 MPG, which goes to 34 on the highway and 30 combined. However, switching to AWD drops those numbers to 26 MPG in the city, 31 MPG on the highway, and 28 in total. Variety At Its Peak But performance is not the only focus for Ford as there's a host of tech features and a sleek interior design for the 2023 Ford Escape. While entry-level trims offer an 8" touchscreen infotainment system, single-zone climate control, and cloth upholstery, higher-end variants come standard with dual-zone climate control, a 12.3" driver's display, leatherette seating, and a much wider 13.2" touchscreen infotainment system. Along with the Ford Sync 4 system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also included as standard features. Ford is always striving to improve its models and this year’s 2023 Escape is a well-defined example. Coming in with a $27,500 price tag, leaves no doubt that the 2023 Ford Escape is a perfect blend of thrill and reasonable pricing. Our team at Benna Ford is here to help you walk away with the “thrill” and a phone call away, ready to pair you with your brand-new Ford Escape. Are you seeking parts and/or accessories to revamp your existing Ford? Our experienced Ford Service Department is available to assist.

They can help you save on time and aid in making the right choice for a truck. Find out if the F-150 Lightning suits your driving or job site needs: Per Forbes, the Lightning F-150 has an edge on downward hills and capabilities. This will help reduce the risk of overheating the brakes on these stretches." The popular automotive site, MotorTrend, shared that Ford does an electric truck differently than the two of the big three in the auto world; GM and Stellanis. "Ford takes a different approach, building an electrified truck that aims to accomplish all the towing and hauling of a conventional cab and bed at a lower price point." Edmunds.com reviews the exterior look of the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning and compares it to other fuel-efficient vehicles in the same class. Critics also speak about available batteries. "This Lightning is known for its traditional-looking truck styling, as opposed to the futuristic Rivian R1T and the far-out Tesla Cybertruck, which looks like it rolled off the set of a Blade Runner movie.
