Ford Super Duty trucks are synonymous with ability. With the latest design and features, the updated 2023 Super Duties are some of the most advanced trucks on the job site. No longer do you have to find aftermarket solutions to your problems, as Ford has listened to customer feedback, looked at the aftermarket, and made changes to make sure the new trucks have all that you will need. Whether you work on a job site every day or you just need a big, capable truck for your personal life, you aren’t going wrong with a Ford Super Duty

With an all-new Head-Up Display that’s been inspired by fighter jets, you won’t have to move your head or eyes to get pertinent information while you’re driving. You have the choice of three viewing modes:

  • Normal Mode – shows speed, speed limit, and navigation prompts.
  • Tow-Haul Mode – features a tachometer, gear, and trailer brake output.
  • Off-Road Mode – shows your tachometer, and drive line status, along with vehicle pitch and roll.

Mark Sich, Ford digital design manager had this to say about the new HUD, “We wanted to create an amazing digital experience for our most-focused truck customers, and our research led us to look at aircraft HUD concepts because of their task-oriented hierarchical structures. “But because pilots are trained to read information in a very prescribed and technical manner, our implementation needed the interaction to be more intuitive for the driver to immediately understand the context of the information being presented.”

According to Ford, more than 90% of Heavy Duty truck owners use them to tow. With either the 7.3-liter Godzilla V8 making 430 horsepower and 485 lb-ft of torque or the High Output 6.7-liter Power Stroke® V8 producing 500 horsepower and 1,200 lb-ft of torque, you will have a fantastic heavy-duty pickup truck that can tackle whatever is thrown at it.

With the availability of Pro Trailer Hitch Assist, you are able to take the guesswork out of backing up to a trailer. Meaning you can get to it quicker without as many steering changes to get your ball to the hitch. By using machine learning and computer vision, the system automatically identifies hitches and will line the truck’s hitch up to a conventional trailer coupler with the push of a button.

Cameras and sensors all around the Super Duty are meant to aid in making towing much easier and give drivers more confidence and control of whatever they’re towing. With features such as:

  • Tailgate Down Camera and Rear Park Aid Sensors: An industry first, cameras and sensors are placed on the top of the tailgate. When the tailgate is lowered, and you are backing up to a loading dock or hitching up a gooseneck or fifth-wheel trailer, you will receive both visual and audible alerts to make things easier.
  • Onboard Scales with Smart Hitch: This estimates the amount of payload you have in the back of the truck in real-time, and then it provides you with an understanding of your trailer tongue weight distribution. This information is shown on the infotainment screen and within the taillamps.
    • Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) for Fifth-Wheel and Gooseneck: When attached to a trailer, the side mirrors will alert you to vehicles next to the trailer when driving.
    • Pro Trailer Navigation: This feature assists in planning the best routes that are easiest for you towing certain types of trailers. It will help to avoid low bridges and tighter turns.
    • Trail Turn Assist: We all know your turning radius gets drastically worse with the larger trailer you’re towing. With TTA, you can virtually lock either of the rear wheels to bring your turning radius to 180 degrees while still navigating tighter corners on a trail.

“This truck represents the pinnacle of BUILT FORD TOUGH® strength and capability, now with advanced technology that makes towing and hauling even easier and businesses more productive. Whether you are towing a boat for weekend family fun, operating a boom lift to fix powerlines, or hauling heavy loads while navigating hills and tough terrain, the all-new 2023 Super Duty not only tackles the task with ease, but its smart connectivity will surprise our customers with ingenious new solutions to transform their truck experience,” said Tim Baughman, General Manager, Ford Pro, North America

With the new Ford Super Duty, you can help to power the job site, tailgate party, or a camping trip with Pro Power Onboard. Giving you 2 kW of power output, you can utilize the power outlets inside the cabin or the cargo box, or, with a special outlet installation kit, you can mount them on the cab of the chassis.

No longer do you have to use plug-in devices to keep track of data on your fleet trucks. With Ford Pro™ Intelligence software products, you have technology like Ford Pro™ Telematics, a cloud-based platform that gives fleet managers access to valuable data and insights to help increase productivity and decrease downtime of vehicles.

The 5G modem inside the truck is a powerful tool to keep you online while out of the office and on the go. This also helps Over-The-Air (OTA) updates be more reliable for the Super Duty, providing new capabilities and features to help keep your Ford truck more the experience with your truck.

Last but certainly not least is the new Uplift Integration System (UIS), which makes it so much easier to install, operate, and control various body-mounted components to the trucks. It’s all plug-and-play. Plug into the tuning port, and you will have the ability to create logic to install and utilize the device on your Super Duty. For instance, you can program the vehicle not to allow the transmission to go into drive when using a raised boom lift.
