What's The Best Hitch For My F-150?

When buying a truck or SUV to tow with, you really need to make sure you know what you are looking for and getting into. It shouldn’t be taken lightly, as towing unsafely can cause real harm to yourself, other people on the road, and especially if you are towing horses, or some other type of animal. Before doing any towing, you should always calculate the weights involved, check your tow hitch, make sure your brakes are in good working order, and also have the proper tire pressures in your vehicle and trailer, among other things. Many Engines, Lots Of Towing Capability The Ford F-150 can be optioned with 6 different motors, from a 3.3-liter V6, 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, 5.0-liter V8, 3.0-liter Power Stroke Diesel V6, 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, and finally a 3.5-liter PowerBoost Hybrid. This means that an F-150 can tow anywhere from 5,000 lbs with a base V6 model, all the way up to 13,800 lbs with a properly equipped 3.5-liter EcoBoost. Because of this, sometimes you will want to use a Weight-Distribution Hitch. What Is A Weight-Distribution Hitch? To understand what a Weight-Distribution Hitch is, you need to understand that when towing, you are essentially putting a load on the rear axle. If there is too much weight on the tongue, the front end can start to get light, meaning braking performance is worse, steering becomes less precise, and you have a recipe for potential disaster that can cause real harm to you and others on the road. So, fundamentally, it allows you to put more of the towing weight back onto the front axle instead of having the rear axle take all of the load. What Exactly Is FALR? Front-Axle Load Restoration (FALR) is a method used to distribute weight back to the front axle. This correlates to a set of equalizer bars or arms placed from the trailer hitch to the a-frame of the trailer you’re towing. These are typically placed about 25-35 inches from the coupler. The coupler is the part that goes from the trailer and locks onto the hitch ball from the towing vehicle. Changing the height of the hitch ball/head can further change the distribution of weight. When using the FALR system, you can load anywhere from 50% up to 100% of the distributed weight back to the front axle. Just remember, adding too much weight back to the front axle can have adverse effects on the rear axle, by inducing slippage. The rear tires will have less traction, and this can cause the trailer to become unwieldy. When To Use A Weight-Distribution Hitch Now, when exactly should you be using a weight distribution hitch? Ford recommends that you use one on any trailer over 5,000 lbs. And they also recommend using 50% FALR. Tow Safely While towing can seem very stressful at first, after a few times, you will get the hang of it. It’s not difficult if you follow the steps to tow safely, which includes understanding the limits of your vehicle, the trailer, and calculating everything appropriately. Try and practice with a rented trailer or with the help of some friends. Towing is a skill that can really come in handy, especially if you get into doing big home projects, race cars on the weekends, or if you end up buying a horse. Ford F-150 Lariat Tuscany Black Ops Package

Low APR Financing Available on Several Special Benna Ford Models

If you are considering a new car, truck, or SUV, the good news is that our inventories are finally returning to a more normal level. The flip side is the Fed’s attempts to stem inflation from when inventory was low on everything was to raise interest rates. As of this writing, the average new car loan interest rate is 6.4%, and that is if you have a credit score of over 661. But Benna Ford isn’t going to let those interest rates slow things down, so through the end of July, we are offering low-interest rates on many popular models. These interest rates vary by model, but all represent substantial savings for the duration of the loan. The best interest rate, of course, is 0.0% APR, and you will actually find that on select models of the recently redesigned Ford Escape on a 36-month loan. Low APR Financing Puts Tuscany Custom Models in Reach Not much over zero is 0.9% APR for the 2022 model year but still new Ford F-150 Lariats or XLTs with the Tuscany Black Ops treatment that includes custom features such as FOX 2.0 Performance Series Tuned Shocks, 20" Stealth Black Tuscany Black Ops Wheels, Tuscany Suspension Lift, Black Ops Replacement Front Bumper with 40" and 2 6" LED Lights and so much more. There is also 0.9% APR financing for the 2022 Tuscany FTX Package as well, with BDS Suspension System, Tuned Fox Performance Shocks, 20-inch Off-Road Wheels, Integrated Light Bar, and many more performance and aesthetic features. 0.9% APR financing over the course of the 60-month loan represents savings of between $13,500 to $14,881 for these Tuscany customized trucks. You will find 3.9% financing on 2023 F-150 Lariat Black Ops models, and a F-150 XLT SuperCab and Crew Cab models. Even an amazing Mustang Mach-E GT AWD EV is available for 3.9% APR financing for a savings of $3,000. All of these offers are good through the end of July, and the financing is through Ford Motor Credit. The interest rates are for well-qualified buyers. Check and see if you qualify, and then visit Benna Ford to see which vehicle on sale works for you.

This Summer Starts with Benna’s Huge Pre-Owned Truck & SUV Sale

It happens sometimes. Now that production has finally picked up, people are now getting the new Fords they have been waiting for, and with them came their trade-ins. As a consequence, Benna Ford now has a very large inventory of pre-owned trucks and SUVs that continues to grow. So we are doing what businesses do when they are overstocked and have to make room for even more stock. Benna Ford is having a big summer sale on pre-owned trucks and SUVs. Thousands Marked Off But The Quality Checked Warranty Remains The price markdowns are significant, ranging from $500 to $5000 depending on the vehicle as of this writing, with most prices being reduced between $2,000 and $3,500 on very popular models like recent model Ford F-150s, Dodge Ram 1500s, and Ford Edges and Escapes among others. There is an additional $500 off or $1000 trade assistance on all pre-owned vehicles priced at $9,999 or above. All of these offers are good through the end of July. Most of the SUV and truck models are under 8 years old and have less than 80,000 miles behind them. That means they qualify for the Benna Ford Quality Checked 3-Month / 3,000-mile warranty. With a $100 deductible, the limited warranty covers the following areas: Engine Transmission/Transaxle Drive Axle Brakes Steering Electrical systems Air Conditioning/Climate Control systems Suspension This not only means that you are covered for three months or 3000 miles, depending on which comes first, but that Benna Ford has extensively inspected all of these vehicles with the goal that your pre-owned purchase won’t be seeing the inside of our service bay in the near future, except hopefully for routine maintenance. It Is Good to Buy from Benna You will also have the benefit of purchasing from Benna Ford, which was voted DNT The Northland’s People’s Choice Awards 2020 for these categories: First Place: Best New Car Dealership First Place: Best Used Car Dealership First Place: Benna Ford Service For Best Oil Change. If it seems like this summer would be much more enjoyable with a newer truck or SUV in your driveway, take a look at our pre-owned sales vehicles or come and visit Benna Ford for a closer look.

Ford F150 Shelby SuperSnake Package

Big Savings On Big Toys at Benna Ford Toy Store

Now that summer is here, the Benna Ford Toy Store is offering thousands of dollars off your next specialty F-Series or Ranger pickup truck. You can save up to $14,000 on vehicles like the Limited Edition 2022 Ford F-150 Lariat FTX or Ops Packages by Tuscany, or over $9,000 off a new Ranger Roush Package truck. We are also offering $5,000 off a 2021 Ford F-150 Shelby SuperSnake 775 HP. We are offering $3,000 off a brand new, 2023 F-150 XLT Roush. What is Benna Ford’s Toy Store? Simply put, it is specifically for our modified and aftermarket Ford trucks and cars, such as the F-150, Ranger, and Mustang. We currently have more than a dozen trucks with thousands of dollars off, with the possibility of up to $4,000 in Ford Conditional Rebates. One of the joys of owning a car is making it your own, whether that be adding visual or performance modifications. This can get confusing, though. What happens when you buy a cold air intake from one company and a supercharger from another company?  And who are you going to trust to do the work for your new vehicle? This can be very daunting and frustrating, especially if you have a budget you want to work with. The Benna Toy Store offers custom vehicles from Shelby, Roush, Waldoch, and Tuscany Motor Co. by Fox Factory, and instead of trying to figure out who is going to build your next vehicle, we already have those vehicles at our dealership waiting for you to come check out and drive home. We take the fear out of dealing with aftermarket parts, service, and customization by building and modifying vehicles for you. If you are looking for a vehicle in a specific color or with certain options that we don’t currently have at Benna Ford, we are happy to sit down with you and go through everything that you would like done to your next vehicle. Whether you are in the market for a new, pre-owned vehicle, or a customized truck or car, Benna Ford has what you need Shop The Toy Store Contact Benna Ford

Ford Rousch Superharged Engine

Roush Offers Supercharger for the 2023 Ford F-150

The 5.0-liter V8 that is either available or standard on most 2023 F-150 models in our Benna Ford inventory produces 400 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. A decade or two ago, such specs were unheard of in a light-duty pickup truck and inject a great amount of power for almost anyone who owns or is considering an F-150. But that word “almost” is why tuner shops exist and for the Ford enthusiasts of that “almost” group, there has been Roush Performance. Roush thinks that "almost" group would really like 305 more horses in the corral. Just down the road from Ford Headquarters in Livonia Michigan, Roush Performance has been pumping up Ford V8s since 1995--mostly through supercharging. On the heels of Roush’s $19,000 2023 F-150 modification that includes upgrades to power, suspension, as well as both the exterior and interior appearance, Roush is offering a 5.0-liter V8 supercharging kit for the merely power-hungry that will bring the specs up to 705 horsepower and 635 lb-ft of torque. Your truck will basically look the same but will behave in an entirely new manner with every thrilling press of the right pedal. Performance figures vary by truck configuration, but rest assured that with over 700 horses, it will go from 0 to OMG! in short order. Not Just a Supercharger The cost of the kit itself is a penny short of $8,650 and is available on all 2021 - 2023 F-150 models with the 5.0-liter V8 that are not already equipped with the ProPower Onboard option. This includes all trim levels except the Limited and Raptor. While the heart of the kit is the TVS R2650 (2.65-liter) supercharger, it is comprehensive enough to include a high-efficiency aluminum intercooler & high-capacity coolant reservoir, an exclusive Roush-developed billet-aluminum viscous crankshaft damper, and spark plugs that reduce the risk of pre-ignition and detonation. There is also a specific 93-octane fuel calibration to reach the full 705 ponies though the truck will still be able to run on 91-octane gas. Given a proper installation, all of the F-150 factory driving modes will still be fully functional. Maybe Not DIY Roush describes this level of installation difficulty as “advanced”, therefore DIY types will not only need to be experienced but also have a garage filled with some specific tools for the job. For those who fit the bill, installation time is estimated to be at about 16 hours. As for the mechanical mortals among us, a better option is a dealer installation. Even if you consider yourself pretty handy, you still want to let our Benna Ford service professionals take on the installation to ensure you get a 3-year/36,000-mile limited warranty when installed by an authorized shop. Better yet, give our service department a call before you get started and consult with them to see if the Roush Performance supercharger kit is for you.

2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Lineup

Ford Wins Two Edmunds Top Rated Awards

This year’s Edmunds Top Rated list came out with Ford being awarded in two categories. Both the Ford F-150 and F-150 Lightning won in their categories, with the F-150 winning now three years in a row for Best Truck. As a trusted source for automobile guides, Edmunds puts each vehicle through a series of tests, with its team of editors selecting the final winners from over 375 competitors. After edging out the competition, it’s easy to see how Ford came out on top in two of six categories. Representing the Present and Future of Ford With the history of the F-150, it comes as no surprise that this year's model earned top honors in the truck category. Alistair Weaver, Editor-in-Chief at Edmunds, acknowledged the impact the Ford F-150 has made over the years and the role it plays in the modern world. Weaver notes that it’s “more appealing to drive and more versatile than ever before” as Ford continued to adapt, update, and improve since its introduction in the mid-70s. Customizations are nearly endless, with several powertrains, bed lengths, and cabin configurations to appeal as a work vehicle and personal truck alike. The other winner, the F-150 Lightning, serves as the electric counterpart to the traditional F-150. It represents the future of Ford. By reimagining a mainstay such as the F-series, this Top Rated Electric Truck was a risk that has paid off. It boasts a range of 240 miles on a single charge with a 7,700lb max towing capacity – an impressive feat for any truck, but especially for an electric truck. With so many features, it makes sense that this isn’t the only award the F-150 Lightning has received. Since its release less than a year ago, it’s earned MotorTrend Truck of the Year, a 2023 Kelly Blue Book Best Buy Award, and even earned the Edmunds Best of the Best among many more awards and accolades. They can help you save on time and aid in making the right choice for a truck. Find out if the F-150 Lightning suits your driving or job site needs: Per Forbes, the Lightning F-150 has an edge on downward hills and capabilities. "One advantage of the electric truck is that it can leverage regenerative braking on long downhill grades to recharge the battery. This will help reduce the risk of overheating the brakes on these stretches." The popular automotive site, MotorTrend, shared that Ford does an electric truck differently than the two of the big three in the auto world; GM and Stellanis. "Ford takes a different approach, building an electrified truck that aims to accomplish all the towing and hauling of a conventional cab and bed at a lower price point." Edmunds.com reviews the exterior look of the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning and compares it to other fuel-efficient vehicles in the same class. Critics also speak about available batteries. "This Lightning is known for its traditional-looking truck styling, as opposed to the futuristic Rivian R1T and the far-out Tesla Cybertruck, which looks like it rolled off the set of a Blade Runner movie. Not everyone is into that, so the F-150 Lightning makes a good case for those who prefer the look of a traditional truck. The Lightning has two available battery options, the standard (which has an estimated range of 230 miles) and the extended-range battery (with an estimated range of up to 320 miles)." All-new F-150

The 2021 Ford F-150: Built For The Twin Ports, Ready For Work

The 2021 Ford F-150 is not only built for America – it is built for the Twin Ports area! Did you know that the best-selling pickup truck in America is an investment in our economy? A study by the Boston Consulting Group showed that the F-Series is the most popular vehicle on the road in Wisconsin and Minnesota. It is also the most popular vehicle in 75% of commercial vocations. Nationwide, Ford has an overall share of 40% of its vehicles in fleets. In fact, Ford owns its share of fleets in mining companies, utility services, government services, emergency vehicles, construction, manufacturing, agriculture, and so forth. These are key fleet sectors that serve the Twin Ports region and beyond – including the Iron Range. Right now, there are about two million Fords registered in Wisconsin and Minnesota combined. With such an economic impact on the states that border the Twin Ports area, the 2021 F-150 will continue to be the leader among pickup trucks in our region. There is more to the story. The 2021 Ford F-150 will now have one of the highest maximum capability ratings in its class. In fact, the 2021 F-150 is capable of towing up to 14,000 pounds and can load up to 3,325 pounds in its box. The 2021 Ford F-150 will be the first pickup with a true hybrid driveline with the PowerBoost V6 engine. This new driveline will have 430 total horsepower between the V6 gasoline engine and the electric motors on board. It can also put down 570 pound-feet of torque. The EcoBoost turbocharged V6s and 5.0-liter V8 will also receive increases in their performance ratings. Equipped with the PowerBoost driveline, you can send power out with the Pro Power Onboard electrical system. This system delivers up to 18 times more exportable power than its competitors. In other words, your work life just got better with ready-to-go power to get the job done. What better way to get the job done – and add to the economic impact your truck makes in your community – is the available Interior Work Surface and Tailgate Work Surface. They both will improve your productivity on site. When it’s time to take a break, you can rest in the Max Recline Seats. The 2021 F-150 is coming soon to Benna Ford. Contact us to get on board with making your impact on our economy more productive. In the meantime, you can still make an impact with one of our remaining 2020 F-150s.

All-new F-150

The 2021 Ford F-150 is Coming...and We Need To Make Room for Them!

Within weeks, Benna Ford will receive its first 2021 Ford F-150s. This is the truck that will offer more efficiency, technology, capacity, and convenience for both work and play. For over four decades, the F-Series is the best-selling vehicle in America. The F-150 alone advances the definition of a pickup truck. The 2021 F-150 will set new standards in delivering the most maximum towing, payload, torque, and horsepower of any full-size, half-ton pickup truck. What's new? The new F-150 will showcase a lot of new technologies and features designed to make – and play – better for you. For example, the new available Tailgate Work Surface enables you to do your job on site from the tailgate of your F-150. Your tools can be powered up with the available Pro Power Onboard providing power enough to operate your power tools or charge up a portable refrigerator for the end of the work week. The 2021 F-150 will also come with the new SYNC 4 infotainment system, a 180-degree reclining front seat, and a new hybrid driveline. These are just a sampling of what to come when the new generation F-150 arrives here in the Twin Ports area. While we await to see all of these new features on this brand new generation F-150, we still have a lot of remaining 2020 F-150s to clear from our lot. 2020 F-150's in stock now Benna Ford has them starting at under $40,000 after discounts and rebates. Maps Off the Beaten Path

Getting Lost Is A Thing Of The Past in 2021 F-150, Bronco

Somewhere the backwoods of Northern Wisconsin, you are trying to find your way back to the highway. The trails look differently on the map. You check your navigation system in your Ford F-150, F-250 or SUV, but SYNC is not showing any signal from your Bluetooth connected phone. You cannot connect to a cellular signal, even through your apps. This situation will become a thing in the past. Starting with the 2021 F-150 and Bronco family, Ford and Telenav are helping ensure their connected navigation technologies continue working on far-off adventures unlike smartphone mapping apps that cease to work outside cellular range. The core of this system will be the upcoming SYNC 4 connected vehicle technology. This new generation of SYNC will feature Telenav’s navigation that includes specialized route suggestions for towing and off-roading. The available hybrid navigation solution stores maps and continues routing if adventures take drivers out of cell coverage. Owners of the 2021 F-150 and Bronco family will also have access to up-to-date landmarks and businesses in the surrounding area with their descriptions and user ratings from Yelp. Telenav’s one-box search technology makes looking up addresses and destinations simple and convenient, intelligently prioritizing results based on the user’s location and personal preferences. The navigation solution incorporates a prediction service that anticipates the user’s destinations and automatically makes routing suggestions, all without the user having to enter a single word. That should get you out of the woods. To get to the woods, contact us at Benna Ford to see how you can become one of the first owners of a 2021 F-150, Bronco, or Bronco Sport in the Twin Ports area. You will find your way back in one of these great vehicles!
