Do You Know Where You Are Going? Remember when gas stations offered free maps? Maps still exist - sometimes free, otherwise available for purchase. However, we have gone online and mobile to see how to get somewhere, thanks to GPS and other technologies. There are even maps inside your vehicle through the navigation system onboard. Before you program your SYNC system, check online or through your mobile mapping app to see the best route to get to where you want to go. A route plan is easy to print and save. The web and your smartphone is also a good resource to find out about attractions, places to stay, where to eat and other places on or off the beaten path. Don't forget to check with Benna Ford's Parts Department to see if there are any updates to your navigation system.

Be Entertained! Sometimes road trips can tedious. There may be stretches of highway that might not interest everyone. To pass the time away, games, videos and music is available right at your fingertips. Having a mobile device helps to pass the time away. Your vehicle may have satellite radio, USB or Bluetooth connection through your SYNC system for music files and/or rear-seat entertainment systems. Select your favorite songs and movies to help your passengers enjoy the ride when things are not that entertaining outside. Don't forget games for the kids, too! However, make sure that the driver has his or her eyes on the road, concentrating on getting everyone safe at your destination!

A Little Extra Helps A Long Way: Some of the vehicles Benna Ford sells have some extra features that will enhance your trip. Some vehicles offer connected services, such as FordPass, in case of an accident or stolen vehicle and concierge services to help find the best places to go. Even if your vehicle does not have these services on board, using your mobile device is another way to stay connected in case of emergencies and changes in plans. Make sure you connect using your device safely - such as exiting at a nearby rest stop, gas station or restaurant to check your device for more information.
