It is built on an rolled steel heavy duty frame with a military-grade aluminum cab and box bolted right on top of it. You also have a choice of available trim levels - from the work-ready XL to the luxurious King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited. You also have the choice of three weight grades, three cabs, and two box lengths.
Speaking of choice, you can either go gas or diesel. The PowerStroke diesel is the choice for those looking for longer distances and fewer fuel stops, It can also take B20 bio-diesel fuel, made from corn from our farms here in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Not to mention, there is now up to 1,050 pound-feet of torque ready to pull your trailer or haul your work to the site. For gasoline-fueled engines, you now have a choice between the 6.2-liter V8 with 430 pound-feet of torque or the new 7.3-liter V8 with 475 [ound-feet of torque.
Super Duty pickups are designed to tow more. These heavy duty pickups are rated to tow up to 24,200 pounds using a conventional hitch, while fifth-wheel amd Gooseneck towing capacity jumps up to 37,000 pounds - the best-in-class!
When choosing a heavy duty pickup, one thing is taken in consideration – fuel range. Whether it is a diesel or just gasoline, a heavy duty pickup customer must know whether their truck can make it to their destination and back without refueling. The key to this is having a large fuel tank to manage range – the distance between fuel-ups from full to empty. Ford has conquered this problem by equipping the all-new pickup with the largest fuel tanks in the business. By selecting a long-box, Crew Cab model in the F-Series Super Duty pickup, the fuel tank is now 48 gallons.
The story is not just fuel range. It is about ensuring efficient operation of the truck for long-term use. The new fuel tank is now equipped with an improved water separator filter and fuel filter design. These features will enable the F-Series Super Duty to do longer change intervals of the fuel filter, which minimizes time and money spent performing routine maintenance on the pickup.
In addition, the diesel exhaust fuel reservoir has a capcity of 7.5 gallons. This will also come into play for longer range overall – especially when DEF is needed on longer trips.
While the F-Series Super Duty is designed to put in the work every day, you can equip one to have some fun. New for 2020 is the Tremor package. This off-road ready, heavy duty pickup is designed to tackle the deep woods from International Falls to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan - and everywhere in-between. Suspension updates include a front-end lift, progressive-rate springs, custom 1.7-inch piston twin-tube dampers to control body motion and 35-inch Goodyear maximum traction tires – the largest tires fitted to a heavy-duty pickup – on unique 18-inch black matte-finished wheels. Super Duty Tremor gets Trail Control™, plus a special rock-crawl mode is included in the truck’s first-ever selectable drive modes. The truck boasts 10.4 inches of ground clearance, best-in-class water fording of 33 inches and the best approach and departure angles ever available with a Super Duty.
