The 2025 Ford Transit is a van with a plan. The passenger van trim starts with a long wheelbase and standard all-wheel drive, allowing customers to get the exact van they need. With two available V6 engines and seating for 2 to 15 people, the Transit is perfect for large families, restaurants that do lots of catering, bakers, event and party organizers, care facilities, and the like.

Performance

The base engine for the 2025 Transit van is a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 275 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Buying a 2025 Transit XLT brings the 3.5-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 engine under the hood, which produces 310 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. All models have a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Whether you specify it as a work van or a passenger van, the 2025 Transit can haul and tow big loads. As a passenger van, the Transit can haul up to 3,776 pounds and tow up to 4,400 pounds. When equipped as a crew or cargo van, the Transit can tow up to 6,600 pounds and haul as much as 4,230 pounds.

Exterior

The 2025 Transit is available in Low Roof, Medium Roof, High Roof, as well as Long and Extended wheelbases. Low Roof models are 83.6” in total height and allow up to 277.7 cubic feet of space behind the first row of seats. The Medium Roof is 100.8 inches tall, with cargo capacity behind the front seats increasing to 357.1 cubic feet. Opting for the High Roof gives 110.1 inches of overall height, with 487.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the driver and front passenger.

Whether you get the Long or Extended model, the wheelbase stays the same at 148 inches.

Interior

As a dedicated business or work van, the 2025 Transit can be optioned with just two front seats. However, for hauling people and their things around, the van comes standard with seating for 12 people and the option to seat up to 15 people. All models have a sliding side door on the passenger side.

Technology

The 2025 Ford Transit features SYNC 4 with SiriusXM radio, the ability to use your voice to use features on your phone, and the infotainment system. There are a total of eight speakers, four front and four rear so that all the passengers have the ability to hear clear, quality audio.

The 12-inch infotainment display features Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa. With Alexa, you not only have the power to specify music you’d like to listen to, but you can also have the system turn on smart home devices such as lights while you are out.

For our commercial customers, the 2025 Transit also keeps you connected with the home office and your clients. Standard is a modem with a 4G LTE Wi-Fi connection. This helps keep drivers and crews connected while on the job or on the road. Connectivity is done through a standard 12-inch touchscreen that’s easy to use, plus enhanced voice recognition and available Connected Built-in Navigation. With Ford Power-Up Software Updates, the 2025 Transit software and SYNC features can stay up-to-date without a trip to the dealership.

Activating the 2025 Transit van's standard 4 G LTE modem allows access to Ford Pro Intelligence subscription services such as Ford Pro E-Telematics.

Ford Pro E-Telematics – complimentary for three years on the 2025 Transit – is designed to help maximize run time with scheduled preconditioning when vehicles are connected to the grid, allowing drivers to bring the vehicle cabin to a desired temperature while still plugged in, helping preserve battery charge for use on the road. Customers can also use the platform to pay for public charging events centrally and to reimburse employees for home charging – all designed with fraud protection in mind.

Available standalone, Ford Pro E-Telematics also seamlessly integrates with Ford Pro™ Telematics so internal combustion and all-electric vehicles in a mixed fleet can be managed via the same easy-to-use dashboard. Ford Pro Telematics is compatible with non-Ford vehicles via a plug-in device so fleet operators can manage their entire fleet from one Ford Pro application.

Helping to improve the performance of their drivers is at the top of fleet operators’ minds, which is why the 2025 Transit works with Ford Pro Intelligence In-Vehicle Coaching, a real-time driver coaching delivered through SYNC 4 voice assistant. Any time a driver exceeds a speed limit, rapidly accelerates, brakes harshly, leaves the vehicle on while parked, or fails to fasten a seatbelt, they will receive an in-vehicle audio message asking them to correct their behavior with thresholds set by the fleet manager. Fleet managers can also receive a driver score on individual drivers to help identify individuals who may benefit from additional training.

Safety and Driver Assistance

The 2025 Transit van comes standard with Post-Collision Braking, Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Auto High-Beam Headlamps, Lane-Keeping System, and Forward Collision Warning.

Post-Collision braking is a unique safety feature that automatically applies the van’s brakes when the airbags have been deployed to attempt to bring the vehicle to a stop so it doesn’t roll or keep moving and provide more damage or injuries.

The Transit can be further optioned with Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (iACC)l - Includes Adjustable Speed Limiting Device (ASLD), Enhanced Active Park Assist, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®) with Cross-traffic Alert and Trailer Coverage, Side Sensing System, Front and Rear Split-View Camera, Traffic Sign Recognition, Intelligent Speed Assist, and Intersection Assist.
