Mustang Quiet Exhaust

SHHHH! It's Only a Mustang!

You're sleeping in on the weekend. And this happens?

  • The neighbor down the street is mowing his or her lawn - or firing up the snow plow after a huge dump of the powdered stuff
  • Another neighbor's kid decided to have band practice
  • Yet, another neighbor's dog is barking - for no reason
  • Oh, and you're next door neighbor is trying to finish their weekend project by cutting more wood on the electric saw.
  • Then, there's the neighbor with the dirt bike?or the chopper?you decide

If you are one - or all of these people - we apologize.

However, Benna Ford has a public service announcement for you. You don't have to be any of them when you drive a 2018 Ford Mustang GT.

Ford calls it Quiet Exhaust. It is a way for the exhaust system of the 2018 Mustang GT to start quietly. Ford also calls this the Good Neighbor Mode, combined with the new Quiet Start mode.

Simply, a Mustang GT driver has to set the exhaust based on the times when it has to be quiet. They do this in the Vehicle Settings menus. Instead of just flipping the menu to Quiet before turning on the ignition, the set time allows it to know to start quietly when the ignition is turned over during that time slot. At Quiet mode, the exhaust will emit at a sound level of 72 decibels - about the same noise level as a dishwasher at home.

The exhaust note will return to Normal when you are driving. Or, you can set it to another noise setting, if you choose. There is also Sport and Track modes for the active value performance exhaust system available on the 2018 Mustang GT.

The new 2018 Mustang is coming to Benna Ford later this year. See us to become one of the first to be the quietest V8-powered Mustang on your block. You might do the entire Twin Harbors area a favor by being quiet - for once.
