New 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning

Don’t think for a second that power only comes from a big, gas-sipping engine. Times have changed, and so have Ford trucks. In fact, Ford has decided to eliminate the engine entirely, replacing it with electric motors that deliver incredible power and reliability.

You’ll find this in the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning, Ford’s first electric pickup truck. Today's electric vehicles aren’t what they used to be, and the F-150 Lightning is proof of that. If you’re interested in seeing it for yourself, let us know here at Benna Ford. You can also read below to learn more.

Power and Driving Range

The F-150 Lightning features a dual-motor system that puts you in charge of 775 lb-ft of torque. That’s a lot of power, and it makes towing a breeze. The F-150 Lightning boasts a maximum available towing capacity of 10,000 pounds. It can also sprint from 0-60 mph in under 4 seconds. You don’t get that from a gasoline or diesel engine.

On a full charge, the Lightning has an EPA-estimated driving range of up to 240 miles. This can be increased on other trim levels, up to 320 miles on the XLT model. That’s more than enough for weekend projects and your daily commute. When you do need to charge up, the Ford Charge Station Pro allows you to charge it at home from 15% to 100% in just 10 hours. This makes it easy to plug it in overnight and feel confident that it will be ready to go in the morning.

Interior and Exterior Features

There’s a good chance the 2023 Ford F-150 has more storage space than any truck you’ve driven. That’s because the “engine bay” doesn’t have an engine. Instead, the area where the engine would normally go is now a front trunk (or frunk). Not only that, but this area includes a 120V power supply. Of course, the exterior of the vehicle otherwise looks as you would expect a truck to look, with bold styling and, in the case of the Lightning, an attractive lighting border the borders the front grille and headlights.

Inside, you can expect to enjoy a massive 15.5-inch touchscreen on the Lariat trim. Best of all, the infotainment system on this touchscreen includes over-the-air updates, as long as there’s a data connection.
