The Bullitt Mustang Returns - 50 Years After Its Movie Premiere

The Bullitt Mustang Returns - 50 Years After Its Movie Premiere

We remember the movie “Bullitt” by only one scene – the chase.

We remember Steve McQueen, who played a detective, as he drove his 1968 Ford Mustang through the streets of San Francisco and somewhere along the Pacific Ocean, chased by two bad guys in a 1968 Dodge Charger. We will not offer a spoiler here – except we still remember that green Mustang today.

For 2019, Ford will introduce a special Mustang commemorating the 50th anniversary of the release of “Bullitt.”

This limited edition Mustang features a retuned 5.0-liter V8 engine, packing 480 horsepower with 420 pound-feet of torque. This edition was timed with a top speed of 163 MPH. All of this power exits a set of black NitroPlate exhaust tips.

You can only get it in two colors: Dark Highland Green Metallic – the same exact color of the movie car – or Shadow Black. You will also find subtle chrome accents around the exterior. Inside will have the 12-inch all-digital LCD instrument cluster, available Recaro black leather trimmed seats with unique green accent stitching, and Bullitt badges on the steering wheel and elsewhere on the car.

All told, this limited edition Mustang starts at $46,595.

If you want to be one of the special owners of this modern movie star car, stop by Benna Ford – or contact us to become one of the few to own one.
