A picture perfect smile is sadly out of reach for many children living in poverty. Dental disease is the most common chronic childhood illness found today and the burden of disease falls disproportionately on low-income children.

The mission of Just Kids Dental is to increase access to care for economically disadvantaged children who currently receive little or no dental care. Registered Dental Hygienists utilize portable dental equipment to provide compassionate preventive care of oral health screenings, dental cleanings, fluoride varnish, oral health instruction, sealants and complimentary toothbrush kits to thousands of at-risk children throughout rural Minnesota and Wisconsin, free of charge. Dental clinics are presented where children gather most, at schools and community sites, thus removing the common barrier of lack of transportation facing many underserved families.

Benna Ford provides Transit Connect vans to ensure safe, efficient delivery of dental equipment and supplies to hundreds of clinics and community events yearly.
