Coming Soon: 2019 Ford Edge and Edge ST

Whenever Ford Performance touches a car or truck - it becomes the stuff dreams are made of.

The Fiesta ST, Focus ST and RS, F-150 Raptor, and the Mustang Shelby GT350 and GT350R round out a stable of performance vehicles that are given special attention to give their drivers the thrill of a lifetime.

Coming soon will be another member of the Ford Performance stable - the first SUV to get the treatment. It is the 2019 Ford Edge ST.

It seems right that the Edge gets the Ford Performance treatment. It's size is neither big or small - just right. It has plenty of room underneath its hood for a 335-hoprsepower, 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 with twin turbochargers. There is 380 lb-ft of torque for massive low end grunt. The new quick-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission has a Sport mode that makes the drive more exciting. This transmission has paddle shifters on the steering wheel for more precise gear selections. Plus, there is standard all-wheel drive with selectable traction control for better road control in all four seasons.

Outside of the Edge ST is a new nose and rear end that might remind enthusiasts of the smaller Focus ST. The new front end features a black mesh grille with black trim in the rear. A set of 21-inch black-finished wheels set the finishing touches on the most aggressive SUV in its class.

For 2019, the rest of the Edge lineup will get a facelift and some further enhancements on its suite of driver's assistance features. These features include Post-Collision Braking, Evasive Steering Assist, and an Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go and Lane Centering. These three features alone are not just exclusive to Ford, but they are also first in this segment.

The 2019 Edge can also be equipped with the latest connected and infotainment features offered by Ford. B&O Play will be available alongside FordPass Connect, including Wi-Fi, and the latest in SYNC 3 connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

The 2.0 liter EcoBoost turbocharged engine receives a 5 percent boost in performance, along with the new eight-speed automatic transmission available.
